Shockwave therapy

Dry needling
Dry needling is the use of sterile acupuncture needles to target myofascial trigger points (or 'knots') in muscles and connective tissue.
These trigger points commonly give rise to pain, tenderness, weakness and movement dysfunction.
Dry needling can be an effective therapy for active individuals and athletes, as well as those suffering from back pain, neck pain, postural strain and headaches.
It is also a well-supported treatment for chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia and complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS).
Shockwave therapy is an effective treatment for tendon pain, plantar fasciitis, frozen shoulder and osteoarthritis.
Shockwave machines use compressed air to transmit high-energy soundwaves through a contact gel applied to your skin.
Shockwave therapy alleviates pain and stimulates tissue regeneration via a process called 'mechanotransduction'.
Our EMS Swiss DolorClast shockwave machine is the only machine approved by the FDA for the treatment of plantar fasciitis.
Osteopathy is a system of manual therapy that takes a 'whole-body' approach to the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal pain.
Osteopathic treatment involves a broad range of hands-on techniques such as massage, stretching, joint manipulation and passive mobilisation to restore pain-free movement.
Osteopaths in Australia are government-regulated primary care practitioners, meaning you do not require a GP referral to see an osteopath.
Private health rebates for osteopathy are available from most private health funds under allied health.

FAQs
Frequently asked questions
At your initial visit I will discuss your case history, conduct a series of physical examinations and provide you with an initial diagnosis. I will then develop and discuss a treatment plan with you and make a start with your treatment.
I will always ensure you understand the nature of your condition, how to manage it and how long it may take to recover. You may wish to bring along some shorts to change into and copies of any referrals, test results or imaging reports.
You will normally be moving better after your treatment and experiencing less pain, however occasionally you may experience mild muscular soreness or fatigue as a side effect of massage and dry needling.
This is a temporary effect and any post-treatment soreness will usually resolve within 24 hours with normal daily activity.
Maintaining fitness whilst managing an injury is very important. I will explain what the risks are for you and help you train around your injury safely.
In some cases this will mean avoiding certain activities or movements for a period until it is safe to resume your normal routine. I work closely with personal trainers, exercise physiologists and coaches to ensure that exercise recommendations are consistent and sustainable.
Most health insurers offer cover for osteopathy under allied health and your rebate will vary depending on your level of cover.
You may be eligible for a Medicare rebate if your condition has persisted for longer than 6 months. For this you will need to see your GP and obtain an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan.
All appointments are 30 minutes and may include different services depending on your requirements. Double appointments or longer can also be booked if desired and are charged at the same rate per 30 minutes.
If you are running late please let us know and we will do our very best to accommodate you.
No. It is extremely important that you are comfortable throughout your treatment and I ensure this by carefully selecting treatments based on your tolerance and the stage of your condition.
I will always take time to explain what different therapies involve and exactly what to expect during your treatment and afterwards.
